OFFAIDS Halloween bash planned for Saturday
Put on your creepiest costume, and dance the night away.

Oklahoma Friends Fighting AIDS, or OffAIDS, will host its annual Halloween Costume Bash on Saturday at the Angles Event Center, NW 39 and Pennsylvania Avenue.

According to organizers, the annual event raises funds for local HIV and AIDS charities while providing guests with a fun, festive atmosphere. The party typically raises more than $12,000 for organizations providing services or education in the metro.

"We have been doing the Halloween party for a number of years," said OFFAIDS President David Thompson. "It started as a private party, and it got so popular that we turned it into a fund-raiser."

This year's party will feature light food, dancing and an open bar. Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 at the door. OFFAIDS also hosts another yearly fund-raiser, "Cabaret"

"We have granted more than $30,000 to local groups each year," said Thompson. "Over the years, we have given more than a quarter of a million dollars, and 100 percent of that money stays local."

He also said the evening would include a costume contest with a celebrity host as well as drawings for prizes.

"Everyone is welcome," said Thompson. "We look forward to this event all year. In fact the OFFAIDS board members have as much fun as the guests. It really is a great time and for a great cause."

Doors open at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are available at Granada Floral, New Leaf Floral, Tony Foss Design Center and Jungle Red. For more information, call 947-7160 or visit www.offaids.com.
