Lady - Oh - Lay!!

Well kiddies, it's not that I don't try to encourage people to attend events centered around/ for women, but this weekend makes it easier. Tonight and tommorow late morning/ early evening is the third installment of The Girlie Show! This awesome event rounds up women artists and puts them together in a space and allows them to hawk their wares. I went to the first one, which was bananas, but missed last year's. There is food (Deep Fork, Cafe Nova, Saturn Grill, The Metro, to name a few. YUM!) live music and an after party at Club LIT (one of the few places I will hang out in Bricktown) with live music from the 'Oh Johnny Girls' as well and the hooka (I love the hooka). Here is some info from the website.

The mission of The Girlie Show is to give talented local and regional females an opportunity to show and sell their work in a fun party atmosphere. While we define our event as an art show, we encourage the redefinition of art in its traditional senses.

The Girlie Show 2006 will be held Friday, October 20 at 8 p.m. to midnight. and Saturday, October 21 at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s show will be held in the historic (and newly remodeled!) Farmers Public Market building located at 311 S. Klein Avenue.

Unluckily I will be out of town tonight, but you should check it out. I'll be in Dallas for Ladytron at the Gypsy Tea Room. enuff said. Have a good weekend biatches.
